Code of Conduct

Welcome to Salsa & Sabor!

We are excited to have you as part of our dance community. This Student Code of Conduct outlines key actions and expectations that will help ensure your success, enjoyment, and growth in our classes, while maintaining a respectful and positive environment for everyone.

1. Warm Welcome

We warmly welcome all students to Salsa & Sabor. Our studios are a safe, inclusive, and supportive space where everyone—regardless of level or background—can learn, grow, and enjoy dance together. We encourage kindness, openness, and a positive attitude at all times.

2. Punctuality

Punctuality is essential for the smooth flow of our classes and respect for instructors and fellow students.
Please arrive at least 5 minutes before class or exactly on time.
If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, please do not enter the class, as this may disrupt the learning process.

3. Dress Code

Proper attire helps ensure comfort, safety, and care of our facilities.

Wear sports or dance-appropriate clothing.
We encourage our students to wear the Salsa & Sabor t-shirts to all their classes. We also have available other swag (Hoodies, Hats, T-shirts)
Use indoor-only shoes, dance shoes, or dance in socks.
Help us take care of the dance floors by avoiding outdoor shoes inside the studio
Please do not chew gum during the class.

Dance Team Members Only:

You must wear Salsa & Sabor uniforms at all times.
Bring dance shoes and heels to all practices.

4. Respectful Behaviour

Respect is a core value at Salsa & Sabor.

Always treat everyone kindly and with respect.
Show respectful behaviour toward instructors, staff, and classmates.
Listen attentively, follow instructions, and maintain a positive, cooperative attitude.
Disrespectful language or behaviour will not be tolerated.

5. Waiting Inside the Studio

As soon as you arrive, please enter the dance studio directly. Wait in the lobby or in the benches inside the studio while your class starts.
Do not wait at the entrance or on the stairs (especially at the Midtown location). We don’t want to disturb other businesses operating in the building or other classes happening.
Enter quietly and wait inside the studio until class begins.

6. Hygiene

Good hygiene is extremely important, as salsa is a close-contact dance.

Shower before class if possible.
Wear deodorant and light perfume.
We suggest bringing a fresh set of sports clothing.
Maintain good oral hygiene.
If you sweat heavily, please bring extra shirts to change during class.

Staying fresh shows respect for yourself and your dance partners.

7. Media & Recording

Videos are allowed only during class and should focus on learning purposes.
Please inform your instructor if you prefer not to be recorded, as classes may be filmed occasionally.
If you are taking a video please announce the class so everyone is aware and give consent to be recorded, privacy is a core value in our academy.

8. Cellphone Usage

Avoid using your cellphone during class.
Respect the instructor and fellow students by staying engaged.

9. Music & Class Audio

If you would like to know the music or audio used in class, please feel free to ask the instructors.
